N E W : My SpaceJah Cure - True reflectionsBehind These Prison Walls, Jah Cure Chanted
Born in the parish of Hanover, Jamaica but raised in Kingston Town, golden voiced singer Jah Cure (real name Siccature Alcock) became involved with reggae music as a teenager.
In 1998, while driving around Montego Bay with some friends, police pulled Cure over in front of Jimmy Buffet's club Margaritaville. Cure claims he was asked if he was in the area the week before when a woman had been raped. He told the police he wasn't but was held until the woman could come identify him. Cure claims the woman asked the police "is this him?" then walked out of earshot to talk with the police. Cure was then arrested, prosecuted in April the next year, and sentenced to 15 years in prison. Since the arrest, Cure has been firm that he is innocent. Cure claims the arresting officer and the accuser's mother were in a relationship.
Although he's currently serving 15 years in jail for a controversial rape conviction (reggae's answer to Kobe Bryant?), Jah Cure continues to release wonderful material for those yearning for positive, righteous messages.
Jah Cure: "I have to give thanks to all them people who are supporting me still. You done know, that's why I have to stay strong. I and I can't afford to get weaker knowing that the world is expecting much. If I and I get weak, they get weak too 'cause they look to me for inspiration." While Cure was serving his sentence, a groundswell of support amongst reggae fans was getting bigger and bigger, raising the singer's status to folk hero. Compilations like Free Jah Cure and Ghetto Life kept the singer on the charts and his fame spread to Trinidad and France.

"Why don't they use him as a positive force to help rehabilitate other inmates? Why don't they get his assistance for good and stop making it harder for him. Out of everything comes good. The prison should be there to rehabilitate, not to break the will and spirits of them" - Ma Cure Jah Cure is eligible for parole in 2007

The song is about the farthest thing from commercial music offerings today—an outraged and unapologetic description of the poverty and “political violence” ravaging his homeland of Jamaica—but “Welcome To Jamrock” hit—and hit hard—because it’s the sound of truth and the result of years of work to bring that truth to light. “I spent a lot of time thinking and this is the fruit of that labor,” explains the youngest child of the musical Marley family.“The song might be a ‘success’ so why be blind to that?” We’re in a mind opening time now—a lot of people don’t have material suffering, but spiritual suffering,” he offers. “Welcome To Jamrock is about hope, and there’s still more to share.
Gentleman - SuperiorThis review comes a bit late, but sometimes a rare jewel can lay undiscovered for a long time.
I recall reading a news article about Gentleman a couple of years ago. It was memorable because it was about a white, German, reggae singer. Now that's unique! A couple of questions immediately came to mind. First, is this guy is to be taken seriously? And perhaps more importantly, is he any good? After all, Germany is not known for producing reggae singers. At the time I'd not heard any of Gentleman's music and didn't give it much more thought. Then recently when I stumbled across his video of Dem Gone from his 2002 CD Journey to Jah. Is this guy to be taken seriously? Most definitely. After a little searching I found his video of Superior from his current CD Confidence. What a fantastic song! Is this guy any good? Oh yeah, he's very, very good. Who knew such an enormous reggae talent would come out of Germany! Who knew? Why dem drop the bombs ina Arabia
Why the children bawl and suffer ina Africa Leaders of the World just fighting for Superpower! Gentleman - Superior (Video Clip)

T h e N E W : BOB MARLEY - SLOGANS!!! Can't take your slogans no more !!!
!!! No more sweet talk from the hypocrites !!!
Bob Marley - Slogans
In the year 2005 Bob Marley would have turned 60. Even after his death Bob Marley remains to be an Ikon of Freedom for the millions and millions of sufferers world-wide. In 1980, he recorded a track which unfortunately hasn't lost one inch of it's meaning. It was never brought out on an album, though. But now, twenty-five years later the track has been released on November 8, 2005, "Slogans," the first new official Marley track released in more than a decade. It is believed Marley recorded the song in a Miami bedroom in 1980. The tapes were kept at Marley’s mother’s house and last year the reggae legend's sons Stephen and Ziggy revisited the acoustic demo. In 2005, Stephen overdubbed the tracks with other instruments, including guitar by Eric Clapton. Stephen and Ziggy produced "Slogans" specifically for this release.

And perhaps he did, as well. For if there is one thing which illustrates Bob Marley's works, it's raising the consciousness of people. Bob Marley has allways been very much aware of the New World Order, as he reads it in the Bible and sees it with his very eyes. Tracks like this one proof it !!!
